BASE 101, 201, 301 & 401

Venango Woods offers Spiritual Growth Classes (BASE 101, 201, 301, & 401) monthly on a rotating basis throughout the year.  A description of each class is listed below.  Check the Calendar  page for the schedule of what classes are currently being offered. 

Highway 101
Discovering Church Membership

BASE 101 is for those considering VWC membership. 

This class covers salvation, baptism and communion, along with the purposes, targets, structure and affiliations of our church.

This 3-hour class is taught by Pastor Dan.

Highway 201
Introduction to Spiritual Maturity

BASE 201 focuses on the four basic habits every Christian needs in order to grow to spiritual maturity: Time in God’s Word, Prayer, Tithing and Fellowship.

This 3-hour class is taught by Dale Sorensen or Tom Mayrant.

BASE 201 will meet at VWC:
 

God didn’t design ministry for just the few with seminary degrees. At Venango Woods every member of the church is a minister. This is what BASE 301 is all about. Through the SHAPE process, you’ll learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience to minister to others in need.

First, God gave you a special ability when you started following Him. We call this a spiritual gift. God gives us this gift to build up our church family and reach out to the world with Christ’s love.

Second, God gives each of us a unique passion for particular activities, subjects and circumstances. God uses those things we feel deeply about to show us where we can serve without quickly burning out.

Third, you have abilities, given to you before you accepted Christ, that God can use. Those abilities will help you in a ministry.

Fourth, God can use your personality. God can use all of us, whether we’re extroverts or introverts; or whether we enjoy routine or variety.

Finally, God has placed a multitude of experiences in your life to help mold you for ministry. God can use many of your experiences in our background to help heal hurts in your church and in your community.

This 3-hour class is taught by David DeShazo.

Class 401
Discovering Your Life Mission

BASE 401 is dedicated to helping Venango Woods members discover and realize their place in the world and in home missions. 

This class has three primary emphases:
1. Learning to Share Your Faith
2. Becoming A “World-Class” Christian, and
3. Discovering God’s Mission for Your Life.

This 4-hour class is taught by Pastor Dan.
